The Forgiven by Grace Quartet originated a couple of years ago when Deroy had a dream of being in a quartet. He and his daughter Christy who also loves to sing realized they both loved gospel music and both were interested in forming a group. They started singing at home and checking into what they needed to do to get started. Once Deroy put his mind to something, he threw all he had into it . He was soon actively seeking the other parts needed to complete the group. After what seemed like a long search and many attempts, the group was complete and featured Christy Kerby as Alto, Rashanda Riddle as Soprano, Deroy as Baritone and Josh Alfano as Bass. The group practiced and was thrilled with opportunities to sing at nursing homes and local churches. After four months, two members chose to resign from the group for personal reasons within a very short time of each other. Christy had a very busy schedule and suggested putting things on hold for awhile. Due to Deroy's frustration, he was about ready to give up. God, however, had a plan for Deroy and the Forgiven By Grace quartet and after more searching and praying, an all men's quartet was established. The men in this group love the Lord and love to sing. Criteria for being a part of this group included being a christian and affiliated with a bible believing church and being ministry minded. Steve Daves joined the group as Tenor, Jim Cooper as Baritone, Deroy moved to the Lead and Josh Alfano rejoined as the Bass in April of 2007. The group brought sweet harmony to the gospel songs they sang and had cultivated a Christian friendship that enabled them to share prayer, laughter and praise each time they got together whether it was for practice or a performance. Performances have included nursing homes, retirement homes, senior citizen gatherings and local church singings. After another 4 months together, this group also lost their Bass singer. Through God's grace, they have been blessed to recently have a new Bass singer join the group. Jeff Kenyon has joined the group as their Bass and has already added life and more laughter to the group. The Lord has blessed him with a beautiful Bass voice and like the rest of the group, he loves gospel music. Opportunities continue to come for the group to praise the Lord through singing. Please pray that God will continue to bless this group with opportunities to serve Him through song!
